l commence by way of a mass start at 1800 sharp on Saturday 17 February, wi
th a final briefing at 1745. Registration will open at 16:30.\n
To register
and collect maps. Your team will need to:\n

Bring first aid kit, so that
it can be checked; see below for what it must contain, and
Bring one comple

Map and Course Details
There will
be one A4 map, 1:20,000 with 10 m contour interval. Magnetic north lines a

 e ranges from approximately 500 to 700 m. \n
The map is printed on Teslin p
aper which is very tough and generally does not need to be covered in conta
ct. Gaiters or long pants are recommended as there are some patches of blac
kberries; however, these are easily avoided. \n
Please note that there are
snakes around, the course setters have come across them and it is warm. Eve
ryone in your team should be familiar with how to treat a snakebite in Aust
ralia. For more information, visit (https://stjohnnsw.com.au/guides-snake-

Summary of Event Rules and Scoring

The only navigational aids permitted ar
e the maps we provide together with your compasses.
Teams consist of 2 to 5
competitors and must remain within earshot of each other at all times. All
members must simultaneously get to within 5m of each control point.
All te
am members must punch their Navlight tags at each control to score points.

If a Navlight punch has failed, record the three letter code visible inside
  the end of the punch.
Competitors must not enter out-of-bounds areas; gate
s must be left as found; stock must not be disturbed.
The organisers may di
squalify a team if it acts against these rules or against the spirit of the
  event.
A team can retire a member at the hash house. This will finish that
team's event. A new team can form but it must start with zero score.
Late
Penalty: 10 points per minute (or part) late. Disqualification if more than
  30 minutes late.
If teams score equal points then the first team home will
  have a higher rank.

Presentation and Awards
Food and drinks will be avail
 able from 2030.\n
Certificates  will be awarded to the winners of each cate
gory and the place-getters of most categories. This is dependent on final n
umbers and will be announced on the day. Presentations will take place arou
nd 20 minutes after the end of the event. \n
